Well my composter the rotating kind has turned into much more of a problem than a benefit. I did not use a starter just mixing things at the recommended levels of green leaves, grass, kitchen scraps etc. and now I have a very smelly black stew. I th…

Here is a good place for us to post if we have some extras from our gardens or from our farms like eggs or tomatoes or what ever. I planted 14 tomatoes and hope to have some to share.

Some of us ride bikes for fun and relaxation, some of us supplement our commuting with our bikes and a few of us do almost all of our commuting on our bikes. I sold my car about 1 year ago and bought a bike in August of 2008, this decision has save…

Thanks for the information on the Walla Walla Roastery. The rotating or management of the compost has been an interesting challenge too. I am using a Rotating Composter and it works well but does not come close to handling tree clippings, grass cli…

This year seems to be the year that I am lightening up regarding the gardening... in other words I am having fun learning. Not trying to compete with anyone else's experience or garden. Just letting my garden teach me. Tara- David shared with me to…

Aunt Violet's Fine Plants

Aunt Violet's Fine Plants is a work of love on the part of Mary Ruther, Proprietor. She was a school teacher who got "burnt out" and decided to make her dream come true and develop a business doing what she loves. Planting plants, selling them and teaching others to make the most out of their home space. She sells high quality locally grown plants for the home gardener that are of high quality and organic. Right now she says Kale is on.
